After updating after long time (2411 system), I got a nearly unusable system with window update problem. The ‘welcome to Mabox’ window is completely empty. When I minimise and maximise again I see content. This is same with all other windows. I have an old computer with Nvidia Graphics. Maybe this is an issue with a driver update. In the update list I can not see any Nvidia item, but I think I saw something with Nvidia during update process.
Any help about further debug and cure? Difficult to make changes to such a system.

Check if disabling Picom helps. The keybind to toggle Picom is W-p (Super + p).
A good rule of thumb in rolling-release systems is to update the system much more frequently - preferably whenever updates are released.
You are absolutely right, I regret my update pause. I had to go back to my stable old image.
Here Super+p enables picom, but does not toggle it.
Is there any way to brake up the backup into more handy pieces. I found that command checkupdates gives a list of all the items. I can attach the list.
What of them might be related to my problem?
I can try to exclude them from the update to sort it out.
I did update only linux54 package, this did go well.

I went through the whole process again, and finally toggle picom worked! Thanks a lot.

One last question, how can I deactivate picom as default? Although ‘xrender’ works, I do not see the point to use it, I like solid windows without transparency.
