At some point I broke the volume icon on the task bar.

Take a look here please. It sounds like a problem with glyphs/fonts.

Thank you for the reply. Following your link I was able to fix (kind of) my issue.
I found a tint2 that didn’t have the issue and then launched volumeicon from the launcher multimedia menu. I just have to add it to my autostart now. I forgot just how powerful the Mabox Config is.
Upon further investigation I found that
[maboxlinux]
SigLevel = Optional TrustAll
Server = https://repo.maboxlinux.org/stable/$arch/
Was not in my pacman.conf file.
Unsure what happened here, but I put it back in. We’ll see what happens.
