Default Conky is checking updates every 30 min, and if updates are available present notifications allowing user to update from cli or via pamac.
This is not an ideal solution - default Conky must be running…
This is how notification (from default Conky) looks…

I’m working on another, better solution using tint2 executor.
Works somehow, but it is not finished yet.

Hi,The status of the updates does not appear in my side menu but my Conky always notifies me, today I had 7 updates, I did them and once finished another notification appeared.
By the way, the 1st update created a hostname.pacnew in which it changed my host name from claudio-mabox to mabox. It generated a doubt because it did it after asking me to download a key from @napcok which I did without hesitation since he is the boss, now I do not know if I depend on the hostname.pacnew or the original for new updates or the operation of the machine. What should I do, keep the original or leave the new one that was generated with today’s update.

Status icon in panel is in development - not ready yet and not available.

It’s perfectly ok to not care about .pacnew files.
