I don’t think I have ever been happier not to be using KDE.

Back in the days of KDE 3.5 I used to be very active in the KDE community.

I was the coordinator of the Greek KDE l18n team and was working on a couple of projects (KDE programs)…

Then KDE 4 was released…

And nothing worked!

I switched to xfce, quit on anything that had to do with KDE, and never looked back. And I am glad I did so…

Now, it seems they are doing the exact same thing…
These guys do not seem to understand that people use their PCs for more than just software testing platforms…

As you said: "I don’t think I have ever been happier not to be using KDE. "

I have very fond memories of using KDE 3.5.
Stable as a rock, fabulously customizable environment, giving amazing possibilities to power users, almost perfect.
And then … the developers decided to throw it all into the trash and started dreaming about an environment intended for desktops and mobile devices at the same time.

Plasma 4 was a nightmare … which eventually forced me to become closer friends with Openbox.
And it turned out to be an excellent choice

It’s nice not to be too interested in new releases of famous DEs, not to care about their new features … and new bugs
