[SOLVED] Terminator Transparency Issue

Hello, friends! I recently got acquainted with Mabox, I like using it, it is very fast and cool customization. I installed version 24.08 on my laptop from the iso image. Everything was fine until I updated to version 24.11. After the update and reboot, Terminator (and cava) for some reason lost its transparency. Changing the settings does not change anything. Later I tried to install both versions (24.08 and 24.11) on another computer in virtualbox. The difference is visible even in the LiveCD versions. After all this, I decided to check the image of version 24.09 - there is no transparency there either. Why is this happening and how to fix it?

Hello @nekomancer and welcome to the forum

Look like picom does not started.
Picom recently had a major update from v11 to v12.
It is possible that there is something wrong with the default picom config in Mabox after changing the version.

I will check with latest ISO soon.

Thanks for the quick reply! I tried to force picom to run, it also didn’t work :frowning:
I’ll wait for fixes in updates, thanks again for your attention

I am having the same issues with my terminals as mentioned above, no transparency. I had come here looking for answers to fix mine and am glad to see this post.

Please try modern.conf

Menu → Mabox Config → Compositor → Choose config file: modern.conf

mabox-dijkstra.conf and picom.sample.conf should also work. (works for me)

/dev/null (no-config) and bunsenlabs.conf seems to be broken with picom v12.

Greyscale thing is also broken.

It looks like the Mabox scripts for Picom need to be rewritten/updated. Maybe with the awesome add-on @muzqs is working on

@nekomancer Thank you for reporting this issue
