good day all
i’m wondering what the difference between these two iso’s ?
linux66.iso vs linux61.iso
all i can find is this:
- linux515 – with the latest LTS kernel
- linux54 – a slightly older LTS kernel that may better support some older hardware
good day all

Both kernels are stable, also known as LTS, meaning a longer support down the road. Kernel 6.6, obviously, has more features that can be advantageous depending on your hardware. There is a quick summary of those features here.
For the rest, good @napcok keeps a txt file with a full list of packages along with every ISO released. If your computer is very old maybe 6.1 is better.
Regards.
thank you
now i understand .
so my acer aspire 2008 laptop would probably linux6.1.iso ?
Both should work fine but you can try the 6.1 first.
