Another thing to look at if the video driver is updated.
Can you post some system information
inxi -G
inxi -G only shows your graphics hardware and driver info — nothing personal. No username, no hostname, no serial numbers. Safe to paste publicly.
I dont think this will solve it. But what happens when you change icon theme in tint2.

Personally I think as we enter the age of AI vibe coding that we are all going to experience more and more issues with broken updates. For example: I use Audacity on a regular basis to capture audio snippets for use in my social media and other places. After a recent update I can no longer record using it, AT ALL.
However I have a backup I created on 5/17/2026 that if I roll back to, Audacity works fine.
I’m pretty sure it’s a recent hardware coding issue that is causing the problem. The backup is actually from 4/17/2026 as the problem came into existence before 5/17, I just backed it up again manually before Timeshift replaced it with a new monthly backup.
Also, it should be noted that the same issue is in effect across different distributions of Linux. CachyOS and Artix both exhibit the same problem while EasyOS Excalibur 7.3 works fine.

I have the same issue: after update, some fonts appear distorted in some areas (in my case, OB main menu, notifications, terminator, conky, tint2) not all the words, just some of them appear blurred/bad rendered. FF is OK, but chromium has the same (and more pronounced) issue.
Before to find this thread, I disabled picom from autostart and rebooted (I thought it could be the culprit), but no changes.
Updated font cache, same issue.
font in a tty: no issues there.

Have you tried boot into kernel 6.18.
Try that first before dive deeper into it.

Now running 6.18.35.1 kernel. Picom autostart disabled. pacman synced. The rendering issue is still there.
It appears different per application:
- in the mabox update terminator window, some letters appear ill-rendered, but
- in a standard terminator window, there are other letters ill-rendered.
Chromium lost it conspicuously. In different degree: OB main menu, pcmanfm, jgmenu.
I tried to disable the antialiaing and hinting from lxappearence (for discarding suspects) but those options are stuck in “enable”.
It is still readable (except chromium). Curiously, I took a screenshot from it, and it was unreadable too (I mean, the image looks distorted, changing zoom to see the “real” image) nothing similar in the screenshot from firefox.
[SOLUTION]
The most likely bugger is the mesa upgrade from 26.0.6 to 26.1.1
Try to downgrade mesa package.
Check if it still excist
ls /var/cache/pacman/pkg/mesa*
Downgrade
sudo pacman -U /var/cache/pacman/pkg/mesa-1:26.0.6-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
Reboot
