A day earlier.

This wallpaper came by and couldn’t hold it…

I forgot about plank. Plank was my favorite dock before.
So lightweight and functional.

Skippy-xd has funny behavior. It works the most (picom on). Today, I got a kinda animated preview --expose–paging.
It started in the middle and step by step (like frames), they moved slowly to the right corner. The first workspace (1e). Weird behavior. The behavior disappears after it happened for a few times.

Two years ago, I made my first code change in skippy-xd, adding animation to the… expose feature. It was an itch I had to scratch. Like many, I wanted a lightweight, decent expose app on X outside of GNOME and KDE. I waited years and years... until I tried it myself. Fast forward to now, I have made more than 400 commits, fixed countless bugs and added major features. With the release of 0.10.0 "Spacesuit", I feel it is no exaggeration that skippy-xd has become the one best app of its kind across Windows, Mac, Linux, X, Wayland, period. The new expose algorithm "cosmos" as far as I know is one of its kind, and take a look at https://github.com/felixfung/skippy-xd/wiki/Customizations,-tips-and-special-set-ups, in terms of meaningful advanced uses, skippy-xd truly has no unparallel. Skippy-xd has approached my vision as an ideal window selector: lightweight, KISS, user-empowering. This is certainly beyond my original intention when I made the first code change two years ago! More and more, I find myself working for these two goals: to advocate expose and similar features, and to be the hobbyist who step up to contribute towards high quality apps, even for features that I do not use. And here, I ask of you: Advocate expose and similar features! Advocate skippy-xd! Try it! Use it! Tell others about it! Share posts and screenshots, share videos of how window management and selection ought to be in year 2025! And tell others to tell others! This is how words spread. If you also want to advocate for an expose app that is lightweight, efficient and user-empowering, please help on spreading the word of skippy-xd. If you have taken a look, or even tried any of the advanced features of skippy-xd, and feel like other apps and environments could offer similar features, let them know. If you like the new "cosmos" expose, and also believe physics based expose algorithm is the way to go, share your screenshots and videos on your favourite forums and social media. And if you also share my opinion that this is year 2025, and window selection and daily workflow should be better, voice your opinion. Let others know about the app. Lots of us don't even know skippy-xd has been back in development. Tell others to tell others. This is how words spread. There may have been progress on AI, but not that much on how you interact with your computer. X, Wayland, Linux, BSD, it shouldn't matter. If you feel dissatisfied about window selection and feel skippy-xd has something to offer, voice your opinion. I have been doing my part on skippy-xd. Please. Show the world what skippy-xd is capable of. Thank you.

Yes, skippy-xd is a real gem.

Kudos to Felix Fung the developer - he does an impressive job and is open to feature requests.

Several of my suggestions have already been implemented and bugs fixed quickly.

I will ask for more… Maybe someday skippy-xd will get its own module in Mabox Colorizer

It’s worth visiting and liking the skippy-xd channel on YT.

Status indicator + menu is something I’ve been working on for the last few days. I was hoping to release it this weekend, but I still need a few more working hours to polish it up. So for now, just 2 screenshots.
