That’s great, old laptop is perfect for testing…

I started to play with sfwbar… and I’m amazed how powerfull and configurable it is.
In the next pre-release iso build, we will have two bars enabled

Second pre-release ISO is available
with sfwbar and simplified native menu.
ISO with Labwc

Happy New Year!!!

Hi @napcok and happy new year. :grinning:

I tried both ISOs in Virtualbox and had no success. It boots fine as usual with opensource drivers but once you close session and try any of the Labwc options, it quickly flashes and goes back to the login screen.

Hi @M0nst3r and happy new year to you

Seems VirtualBox is not a good choice for this - also doesn’t work for me.

I use Qemu - very easy thanks to Quickemu.
It lets you quickly download and run optimized Linux distros.
They just released a new 4.9.7 version with Mabox support added.
Thanks to quickemu you can also run even such exotic systems as macOS or Windows

quickemu is in Mabox repo:

yay quickemu

quickemu has a hardcoded list of distributions and releases it can automatically download and run.

But it’s straightforward to boot any iso with it, e.g. our pre-release.

I will write how to do so for pre-release iso, as soon as I get back from my walk.
