GKrellM in Mabox Linux

Mabox comes with GKrellM preinstalled. It is disabled by default, but you can enable it by:

Settings menu super+s -> Autostart -> Choose apps/services (GUI editor)

There are two options:

  • GKrellM
  • GKrellm in dock

If you decide to run GKrellm in dock – use super+alt+d to show/hide dock. You can also hover your filesystem over right screen edge.

I was testing GKrellm, I liked it, visually sober and attractive.
I see more practical and configurable to Conky, but I do not rule out in the future use it to monitor my PC.
Thank you very much.

For me, GKrellm was the first program to install and configure on a freshly installed system.

The main reason was the ability to add your own commands as buttons, thanks to the gkrellmlaunch plugin.

And that’s what I did for over 20 years…

I recently stopped using GKrellM completely…
… since in Mabox we can add our own commands or menus with commands to Conky (and for each separately)

I understand, I just found it visually very attractive, I think I will alternate between one and the other, my Conky perfectly meets what I need and I put it all in one, that allows me to have free the desktop, I arrange the windows in the space I have free and I can always have it visible, my machine is old and I fear it will collapse, so I control enough, especially the temperature, this winter I have to replace the heatsink grease. So far I haven’t had any problems of any kind.
I also read somewhere, I don’t remember where, that Neofetch will be left by the developers, so it will be a good time to create something similar or replace it with some other similar type if only for the purpose of decorating the desktop on Fridays.
I’m going to see if I can make some script based on Neofectch.
