Https links not opened in preferred browser

Hi,

I installed another internet browser and set that one as preferred. After a reboot (to be sure anything is propagated inside Linux) clicking on a link in for example Hexchat (HTTPS link) still opens FF, the not preferred explorer. What am I missing?

Hi, thanks for this. Odd thing is with this command “xdg-settings get default-web-browser” it tells me it’s the opera-browser.desktop so I would assume Hexchat would respect this.
