Just trying to get Mabox up on my 2005 MacBook Air after upgrading its hardware.

My first Linux was SUSe 5.1 and many distros since. Have degrees in Computer Engineering, Applied Math and Explosive Engineering. Used RHEL/fedora while working at Sandia National Labs and Nevada Test Site. Retired so just tinker with math programming. Computational fluid dynamics and mathematical simulation of physical processes was my specialty. My last job was writing simulation of the interaction of underground nuclear test with the rock strata to form radionuclide waste & transport it in groundwater. Run Manjaro /plasma on my 24 processor compute server desktop.
