Installing new software w/o updating

Dear all,

Today I wanted to install ncdu from the command line with pamac install ncdu.
The package manager would like to update 85 packages before installing ncdu. Can’t I just install a software without updating other packages ?

On a sidenote, it also had detected dependency cycles between smbclient/cifs-utils and mesa/libglvnd (this is a fresh install)

Arch/Manjaro/Mabox are not Debian-based they all rolling-release, thats mean they should be updated regurally.

Suppose an update has some problems and you don’t want to update yet, but still want to install new software ?
