fehbg (/usr/local/bin/fehbg) can’t handle desktop backgrounds with spaces in their filename. Even though I use nitrogen instead of feh it causes an error message every time I switch modes with xrandr. One solution is replacing fehbg with a zero byte file. But that’s not satisfactory, I don’t need fehbg in the first place. So why the hell was xrandr running fehbg in the first place? Turns out xrandr is a script in /usr/local/bin disguised as a binary.

Actually, nitrogen is also a fake binary, which also doesn’t work. Giving me “/usr/local/bin/nitrogen: line 16: $1: unbound variable” when I try to launch it. Solution: delete that shit, it’ll default back to /usr/bin/nitrogen as God intended.
